Easter Fousomes

Despite Easter falling in March the course was still in excellent order and 38 pairs came under starter's orders for this year's Easter Foursomes.

Captain John Milligan created a bit of history having been beaten in the first round of the Tom Rutherford event the day before but came in as a late reserve to join Robbie Brown in the main event when Robbie's brother Tom had to call off with a sickness bug. John was quite happily telling those who would listen that he had a chance to be the first to lose in the first round of both competitions in the same year! How wrong he was.

The Mount Bruno Plate for early losers in the Easter Foursomes or Tom Rutherford Trophy did not produce a huge entry. 7 pairs took part. It was won by Ian Bunch and Roddy Macneal who defeated Howard Jones and Andrew Vernon in the final.

Tom Rutherford Trophy

The Tom Rutherford Trophy is contested over Easter weekend by the more elderly members of the Club.

Despite some mutterings about 'youngsters' taking part the final was contested by John Laughland and Scott Thomson against Paul Williams and Norman McLean. Paul and Norman ran out winners in a keenly contested final.
