COURSE RANGERS

The Club has vacancies for Course Rangers. The Ranger travels around the golf course, monitoring the pace of play and helping golfers. The key to this position is being friendly and courteous when directing play. Good interpersonal skills and tact are very important when dealing with golfers and the public. The Ranger also serves as a communications link from the course back to the Clubhouse.

Reporting to the Caddiemaster, the main responsibilities of the post will be:

  • Monitor pace of play
  • Be friendly, courteous and helpful to golfers
  • Assist and advise non-golfers to follow safe routes around the course
  • Pick up litter on the course

The successful candidate will probably have golf course experience either in a similar role or as a player. As there will be significant contact with Members, visitors and the general public excellent interpersonal skills are essential. While not a requirement of the post an interest in the traditions and history of golf would be advantageous.

While these posts are primarily seasonal and part-time in nature there may be opportunities for permanent and full time work.

To apply, you should send a letter highlighting your motivation for the role and relevant experience together with a CV to Ken Goodwin, Secretary, Prestwick Golf Club, 2 Links Road, Prestwick KA9 1QH or by e-mail to secretary@prestwickgc.co.uk
