A Historic Opportunity

On 17 October 1860, eight caddies teed it up over the 12-hole links of Prestwick to play for a challenge belt of red Morocco leather with a silver buckle. Little did they know that they were taking part in golf's first Major Championship.

23 further Opens were played over the links of Prestwick. Morris' original 12-hole design was extended to 18 holes in 1882 to a layout which has only seen occasional changes since then. Six of the original greens from the 12-hole course are still in use today.

For the Love of the Game

We believe this will be of particular interest to those with a keen love of the history of the game and those who enjoy playing hickory golf. It will also be of interest to those using modern equipment who recognise the unique once in a lifetime opportunity being offered.
