As part of our ongoing commitment to strengthening engagement with local stakeholders, Prestwick Golf Club is proud to open access to the original 12-hole course to members of the local community.
This initiative offers a highly positive opportunity for local golfers to walk the very grounds where the first Open Championship was contested in 1860, experiencing golf on a truly grand and epic scale.

Event Details
Everything you need to know about participating in the community day on May 11th, 2026.
Numbers & Format
We are accommodating 40 players in the morning and 40 in the afternoon. After reserving times for media and invited guests, approximately 68 places will be available for local community participants via a ballot system.
Entry Requirements
Applicants must provide proof of a Prestwick postcode (or membership at a local Prestwick club) and hold a valid handicap. Applications will remain open for a set period prior to the ballot.
Cost & Clubhouse
A nominal entry fee of £20 per person will be charged. Participants will also be granted full access to the historic Clubhouse facilities, including bar and catering services throughout the day.
