Rob McGuire

Rob leads the Team at Prestwick and is responsible for the overall smooth running of the Club, focusing on delivering a quality member service culture and a first-class guest experience.

Originally from Barbados (yes, he gets plenty of comments about leaving the sunshine behind!), he moved to the UK to complete his education. Over the past decade Rob has been fortunate to work at some fantastic Clubs – Roehampton Club, Sunningdale, New Zealand, Muirfield, and now Prestwick.

Rob is a firm believer in fostering a culture that creates lasting memories for everyone who comes through our gates, whether it’s your first visit as a guest or your third time this week as a member.

If you see him around the Club, be sure to stop and say hello!

Head Greenkeeper

Dave Edmondson

After previous similar roles at The Island Golf Club, Ireland, Golf de St-Nom-la-Bretèche, France and Royal Ostend Golf Club, Belgium Dave joined as Head Greenkeeper in April 2021. He manages a team of 10 greenkeepers tasked with presenting the links in a top class condition. Dave is a strong advocate of encouraging staff development and is proud that half of the greenkeeping team have been accepted as R&A scholars.

Steward & Head Chef

David Bennett

David has been associated with the Club since 1968 when his father was appointed Steward and his mother cook. He has been interested in food and cooking ever since he was encouraged to help his mother in the kitchen. On leaving school David trained as a chef and when his mother sadly passed away he assumed the role of Head Chef in 1982. When his father subsequently retired David also became Club Steward.

David enjoys experimenting and improving the Prestwick cuisine. He particularly enjoys offering the seafood, shellfish and spicy dishes that have become the hallmark of his cuisine today. David manages a team of 6 in the kitchen – each with individual culinary skills to complement those of David.

Clubhouse Manager

Graham Gardner

Graham is responsible for the front of house at the Club. Although a qualified chef Graham also has qualifications in wine and spirits and is the ideal person to advise you on a suitable wine to complement your meal. He has been with the Club since September 2018.

Golf Operations Manager

Cally Nicol

Cally joined our team in April 2022, bringing with her a strong background in social media and marketing. She now plays a key role in the day-to-day running of the Clubhouse and Number 17, working closely with both members and visitors to ensure everything runs smoothly.

Before joining us, Cally ran her own successful baking business, Cally Bakes, for five years in her twenties – a venture that reflects her creativity and dedication.

A fun fact about Cally: she decided to take up golf again after joining the team at Prestwick Golf Club – mainly to earn a day off to play in the annual Staff vs Committee match!

David Fleming PGA

David and his team of PGA Professionals look forward to offering you one of the warmest welcomes in golf!

A full range of golf services are available, including coaching, custom fitting, and top of the range rental equipment. The Professional Shop is well stocked with a wide range of products and golfing attire from golf’s leading brands.

There have only been seven Professionals before David, including Old Tom Morris, in Prestwick’s 175-year history. David completed his PGA training at Turnberry, Ayrshire, and became Head Professional there. After a move to become Director of Golf at the DP World Tour Irish Open venue, Carton House in Ireland, David returned home to Ayrshire to take on the role of Prestwick’s Head Professional in 2004.
